Dr. Christoph Meier, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Mechanosynthesis Group, was honored by the “GAMM Juniors Award” for his thesis, “Geometrically Exact Finite Element Formulations for Slender Beams and Their Contact Interaction.” His thesis was submitted at the Institute of Computational Mechanics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) under supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang A. Wall.
The International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM) selects 10 new GAMM Juniors each year, who are representative of the young scientific generation in the fields of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics. As GAMM Juniors, candidates can be suggested who have graduated with exceptional achievements in their final thesis and/or Ph.D. thesis in the field of Applied Mathematics or Mechanics.
